Who is responsible for a slip-and-fall accident? There can be a variety of parties who might be responsible for a slip and fall accident.
The owner or manager of the premises, along with the person who caused the condition that caused the injury if that is a different person, so if for example a contractor improperly does stairs and someone is injured on those stairs the contractor can be liable, but the owner or manager of those premises can also be held responsible, especially if they had prior notice or should have known of the incident.
Another example would be spilt liquid in a supermarket. The manager or owner of the supermarket would be liable if the liquid should have been detected and remedied by the time the incident occurred, so but for their negligence the incident would not have occurred.
