What is an example of a breach of contract? One of the most common examples would be you loan a friend money, the friend is supposed to pay you back that money within a certain time frame – and then that time frame comes and goes and the friend doesn’t pay you back. That would be a breach of contract since the main purpose of the contract was that you receive that payment.
